What is financial statement auditing?
Auditing financial statements is one of the main activities that an accountant does when providing his services. Auditing services are provided to various companies and corporations (associations, non-profit organizations, public benefit companies – public benefit companies, cooperative societies, etc.). In accordance with the law, an accountant's opinion on the financial statements is mandatory, and therefore, an accountant must audit financial statements about the entities he audits. Such corporations are required to present audited financial statements by an accountant.
Our Reporting Audit Department includes accountants and economists with knowledge and reputation in their fields. The team members are members of the academic staff of Israel's leading universities and colleges and work at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
The purpose of the audit is divided into many 'small' purposes, however, the main purpose of the audit of the reports is to provide an external and independent opinion on the financial statements of the audited entity. The auditor's opinion is attached to the company's financial statements and helps report users assess the company's financial condition.
The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Israel defined the purpose of the audit as follows: The purpose of the audit is to enable the auditor to give his opinion on whether the financial statements adequately reflect, in accordance with generally accepted accounting rules, in all material respects, the financial condition of the audited, the results of his operations, changes in his equity and cash flows (Audit Standard 73, section 3).
